Born Unorl Angel Santiago in Caguas, Puerto Rico, DJ Steelo discovered his musical calling at a young age, setting the stage for a remarkable career in the world of DJing. At just 15, DJ Steelo received his first turntables and a mixer, transforming his basement into a haven for refining his mixing skills. His dedication and passion propelled him to grace numerous tri-state area nightclubs in the late ’90s, laying the foundation for an extraordinary career. Steelo’s breakthrough moment came in 2002 when he seized the opportunity to spin tracks at the iconic CHINA CLUB in midtown Manhattan under the mentorship of promoter Ruben Rube. Impressed by his talent, Rube swiftly recruited Steelo as one of the club’s resident DJs, marking a three-year tenure of electrifying Saturday night performances.
